When Swiftpage introduced subscription pricing for Act! back in May of 2015, they implemented two means of payment - monthly and annually. Customers that elected to pay annually, were rewarded with two of their twelve months of subscription free of charge. For those choosing to pay monthly, they were billed a set amount each month, which typically amounted to 17% more by year's end.

As the Canadian Master Distributor, we never much liked monthly payment plans. They created a permanent "trial" experience with customers, leaving them less committed its deployment, and therefore more likely to be abandoned. As this wasn't good for anyone, we prohibited these plans in Canada.

Well, after two years Swiftpage has come around to our way of thinking and they're abolishing all new monthly subscriptions as of May 1st, 2017, and introducing a single annual payment option. If you're already on a payment plan (monthly or otherwise), your payment terms will continue unchanged. A small single digit price increase will kick into effect after May 1st when your subscription contract renews.

The big change is for new users after May 1st, who will look at paying for twelve months instead of ten, since it will no longer make sense to incentivise the selection of the only payment method available. The important conditions to note as are as follows:

• Existing annual subscribers will continue to save two months a year as long as their subscription remains active, and they renew on-time.
• Any additions these existing annual subscribers make to their plan will be added under the old payment terms, not the new ones.
• Anyone signing up to an annual contract between now and April 30th will be grandfathered in under the old payment plan terms, and like existing subscribers will enjoy those terms on any additional subscriptions they add to their plan.
• Any customer purchasing perpetual licensing after May 1st will be required to pay double the normal annual rate, which will represent an increase of $100 per seat.
• Act! Gold Support includes priority service with Act! Level 2 techs, appointment setting, and call back scheduling. Pricing for Gold support will remain unchanged after May 1st.

Please note that Business Care subscribers get "perpetual" licensing with their Act! subscription at no addition charge. Annual subscribers within the "loyalty" period, basically pay twice the annual subscription in the first year to get perpetual licensing.

* Subscribers on the below tier may remain on this tier for as long as they remain continuously active, and may continue to add users at the add-on user rate shown below.  Lapsed subscribers re-enter at the new customer rate.
