FAQ

How do I backup my Alerts schedule and settings?

The Alerts schedule and settings are stored in the file "C:\Windows\System32\Alerts.xml".  Backup this file.

Why does my backup fail to a network drive/location?

Check the Event Log, but there are usually 2 reasons for this failure:

  1. Make sure the Alerts Service is configured to run under a domain account which has access to the network drive/location (See Changing Service User)
  2. Use UNC instead of the mapped drive letter in the path (See Mapped Drives vs UNC Path)
  3. Why are my Dashboard Reports blank when sending with Alerts?

Be sure that the Dashboard has its Print Setup correct.  Include "all items that can be printed" in the area of items that will be printed.  Test your results by selecting the correct output, PDF or Excel.  See the Dashboard Help File under Print Icon for further instructions.

Why did my Dashboard Reports stop sending with Alerts?

Dashboard is probably not activated under the same windows account as the Alerts Service is running.  Log into the computer as the Alerts Service user, start ACT!, and ensure that it is registered and activated.
