On July 1, 2014 new e-mail legislation known as CASL (Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation) will come into effect.  This requires businesses to obtain explicit permission to communicate electronically with recipients or else face fines of up to $10,000,000.

We have created a tool for Act! that allows you to e-mail your list before July 1st to request permission to continue to communicate with them via e-mail.  Since you can e-mail an entire list of Contacts at once and it only takes two clicks for a contact to accept, you’ll have a substantially higher proportion of your e-mail list provide consent than you might through other methods.

Here’s how it works:

    • You set up the tool with your company name, logo, and e-mail account information **

    • The tool allows you to customize the subject line and signature, and then send an e-mail to the entire database or a specific lookup

    • Each contact will get an e-mail with a unique link that goes to a page with your company name and logo and requesting their permission

    • They simply click Accept or Decline

    • The tool allows you to pull all responses back into Act! and records the date/time and other required information

** We recommend setting up a $10 account with SendGrid.com for a month to send these emails out.  Instructions on doing this are provided.

Only one license is required per company/organization as this only needs to be installed on one computer.  Simple step-by-step instructions are provided.
